Produced by Mike Elizondo (Twenty One Pilots, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Carrie Underwood) and co-produced by Derek Trucks, Future Soul was recorded at the band’s own Swamp Raga Recording in Jacksonville, FL, and Phantom Studios in Gallatin, TN. Derek Trucks says: “I feel like this is the most unique record we’ve done. It’s my favorite collection of songs that we’ve ever put on a record.”
The 11-track album features songwriting from Trucks, Tedeschi, Mike Mattison, Gabe Dixon, and Tyler Greenwell, pulling from funk, rock ’n’ roll, blues, soul, punk, and more. This marks the follow-up to TTB’s ambitious 2022 quadruple album I Am the Moon and their 2025 live release Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited.
Tedeschi Trucks Band formed in 2010 when husband-wife duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks merged their respective ensembles. Tedeschi brought powerhouse blues vocals and guitar prowess honed through solo albums, while Trucks contributed virtuosic slide guitar skills developed during his tenure with the Allman Brothers Band from 1999-2014. Their 2011 debut Revelator won the Grammy for Best Blues Album, immediately establishing TTB as a major force in contemporary American roots music.
The current 12-member lineup creates a symphonic sound impossible for smaller ensembles to replicate:
